It's a bull ♥♥♥♥ practice and probably the reason the XenoVerse 1 'support' was nonexistent after the Resurrection of Frieza was released. It's basically the equivalent of on disc DLC, it's really only an unlock key you're paying for with the Season Pass/DLC pack.
